Hozz For Mac

Most operating systems are using a text hosts file to map hostnames to IP addresses and comes with predefined default hosts. Hozz offers you the possibility to import and enable supplementary hosts files via a simple, user-friendly interface.

The Hozz user interface comprises a simple window where you can see the currently available hosts files, together with their content. Moreover, Hozz also offers you the possibility to edit the data.

To import the hosts file, all you have to do is drag and drop the text file on top of the Hozz main window. Note that via the Hozz Settings menu you can also choose to import hosts files from ZIP archives.

At the same time, Hozz allows you to provide remote source URLs for the hosts files and automatically updates their content with the online hosts.

Within the Hozz main window, you get to change the order of the hosts files with simple drag and drop movements. To activate any of them, just click with your mouse the check box associated with each entry.

Hozz also comes with a status bar menu that includes the list of all imported hosts files and also allows you to activate them without having to go through the app’s main window.

Last but not least, the Hozz hosts files can be exported to a ZIP archive, or you can choose to generate a Surge configuration file.

Hozz provides support for manually managing and activating hosts files on Mac OS X without too much trouble: you get to import the text files with drag and drop and activate any of them via the status bar menu.
