Audiobook Maker is a simple and straightforward Mac OS X application that can convert and stitch multiple audio and video files into an Apple Audio Book (in the M4B, M4A and MP3 formats), which you can transfer and play on your iOS Device, such as iPhone, iPad and iPod or access it from iTunes on your Mac.

The application features an easy-to-use GUI that consists of a top toolbar with shortcuts for the most common actions (add, remove and sort files and “Make” the audiobook), as well as a main pane for viewing the files you have added that you want to be included into the audiobook.

Audiobook Maker supports a variety of both video and audio files as input: MP4, MOV, MTS, DV, MP3, AAC, AIFF, WAV and many more. It makes no difference if the files extensions are different, because Audiobook Maker will merge them into one big Audio Book.

In addition to this, the utility features several configuration options for personalizing the resulting Audio Book. Of course, you can specify the title and author, but you can also add an image cover and change the encoding type, bitrate, frequency and channels of the output file. An additional option is to auto-send it to iTunes after it is done.

Audiobook Maker is not as sophisticated as many other tools in its category, but offers a good set of features to help you create Audio Books in no time. The user interface is easy to operate and the app supports various file types, both audio and video, and a few audio options for the output file.
