Use drag&drop to easily save files, text, links, images, emails, and various other items, and sync your data between all your devices via iCloud. #Sync File #Sync URL #Store Text #Sync #Share #Store
The more devices we use, the harder it is to sync everything we need between them. Bookmarking a page or saving a file on one device is easy enough, but how do you then get it to your Mac, phone, tablet, or smartwatch without breaking a sweat? Normally, you can't. However, with third-party apps, it can get a lot simpler.
Gladys is one of your options. It is a native macOS app that is also available for the iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, allowing you to save and sync items across the Apple ecosystem. It essentially works like a shelf where you drop anything you need to save, and your data is synchronized via iCloud.
The app has a minimalistic UI, consisting of a basic window where you can drop links, images, files, text, or anything else you wish to save. It is designed to work with any app that supports drag and drop, but you can also just paste things the good old-fashioned way.
Some apps may work better than others, and the type of content is important as well. I had no problems adding things from Safari or Chrome, but Firefox was problematic at times.
Once something is added to Gladys, you can change the item's title, add helpful notes, or attach labels, which allow you to filter content and find what you need more easily. If you know what you're looking for, you can also find it in Gladys directly from Spotlight.
What's more, you can lock items with a password, run a Google search, show files in Finder, open URLs, add items to your reading list, or just share them directly.
If you have a large collection that you want to transfer to an unsupported device, or just back it up, you can pack everything into a ZIP archive that can then be imported later.
The app is also available for iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS, and synchronization is handled directly via iCloud. Just make sure you enable the feature from the app's preferences.
While you're there, you can also check out all the other options you can customize. For instance, you can configure a hotkey, move the app to the menu bar, enable label creation from more types of content, increase note and label visibility, etc.
Overall, Gladys is an excellent app for users who want to store and sync content between their Mac and iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch. It is full of useful features, and it has recently become completely free, so there is no reason not to try it out.
