FatFileFinder For Mac

FatFileFinder is a simple OS X application developed with the help of the Electron framework that aims to help you find the large files that take big chunks out of your storage space.

To start using the FatFileFinder application, you must begin by providing the path to the directory you want to examine. You can do that manually, by actually typing the path, or you can press the search button and use the Finder menu to locate the folder you need.

Worth mentioning is that FatFileFinder is able to work with local folders, can connect to network connected storage drives, or you can use it to scan removable storage devices, such as USB sticks (it is not enough to select the drive, you must point to a folder).

Note that FatFileFinder will also analyze the contents of the included subfolders and allows you to navigate through them without leaving the application by using arrow keys. If you hover your mouse on top of each entry, you will be able to see the path of each file.

Within the FatFileFinder main window, a minimalist slider bar offers you the possibility to choose what files you want included in your results list. FatFileFinder does not make any distinctions depending on the file type, but you can filter the results by size.

The FatFileFinder scanner limits go from 1MB to up to 200MB, which means that you can choose to see only the extremely large files. FatFileFinder will ignore files smaller than 1MB in order to ensure a high performance.

To sum up, FatFileFinder proposes a simple solution for quickly seeing what files are taking up the most storage space.

However, FatFileFinder does not include contextual menus for revealing the files in the Finder and does not integrate any previewing or deletion options: you have to take additional steps to navigate to the file on your own if you need to perform any management task.
