FGDesktopLoupe is a lightweight and minimalistic OS X application designed for dimming your screen and to permanently display a round spotlight around your mouse pointer. The application is great when creating screencasts, screenshots or when you want to present anything.

As soon as you launch FGDesktopLoupe, it will dim your desktop to a predefined value and will display a bright spotlight around your mouse cursor. However, it also provides a good amount of options which you can configure from the Settings window.

The settings can be toggled using the unusual CTRL + ALT global hotkey, which you can use when working with any application. Moreover, the CMD + ALT global hotkey allows you to toggle the dimness and spotlight on and off with lightning speed.

In the Settings window, you can increase the red, green and blue values of the screen (excluding the spotlight), as well as the Alpha value, which is another term for brightness level. In addition to this, you can choose to always hide the spotlight, allowing you to use the app only as a screen dimmer.

Another useful option is controlling the size of the spotlight. Having said that, you can shrink the spotlight size to less than a centimeter and make it as big as 15 centimeters. Moreover, the spotlight can be set to be displayed only over the desktop, thus ignoring the active windows on top.
