Keeping all your contacts information in a Excel file is great for storage, but if you need to import the data to your macOS Contacts app, you will need to convert it to the vCard format.
vCardConverter for Excel aims to help you convert any .xls or .xlsx file to a single, or to multiple vCard files while enabling you to make sure that all the information is assigned to the correct field.
Within the vCardConverter for Excel main window you can open the Excel files containing your contacts information and visualize all the available columns. Each row represents a contact entry and you can quickly correct any typos, or simply input new information.
VCardConverter for Excel offers you the possibility to just delete the rows that are incomplete or have irrelevant information. However, the application does not allow you to input new rows.
To make sure that vCardConverter for Excel assigns the Excel columns to the correct vCard fields, you have to manually configure the conversion. The app comes with 32 vCard field types and you get to assign them to any column with a simple drag and drop.
You can save your conversion configurations in case you are planning to process similar Excel documents at a later time.
If your document comes with a header, it is advisable to keep it until you finish assigning the columns, and then simply delete the row. The drawback is that you might have additional columns in the Excel document that don’t have a vCard correspondent.
Via the vCardConverter for Excel Preferences window you can choose to export all the Excel rows to a single vCard file, or to create a separate vCard file for each row. You get to easily change the vCard standard .
To conclude, vCardConverter for Excel proposes an efficient solution for exporting contact data stored in an Excel document to the vCard format, which is compatible with the default OS X Contacts application.
