To get started quickly, you can just set a universal timer. Any app you haven’t interacted with after that amount of time will be hidden. In the Advanced tab, you can configure separate settings for each app, and you also have the option to close them instead of hiding.

Once everything is set up, the application will continue running in the background, and you can access it at any time from the menu bar. It’s a small app with a minimal resource footprint, and it can be launched at login automatically.
