Daylife is a lovely diary application that helps you keep multiple journals and make as many daily entries as you like. The editor includes rich text formatting capabilities, allows you to add as many pictures as you like, and enables you to attach tags for easy sorting.
To help you protect your privacy, Daylife will encrypt your entries using the AES-256 standard, so the first thing you need to do is setup a master password for the application.
Daylife prompts you to install the helper tool that will reside in your status bar and helps you create new entries without dealing with the app’s interface.
The Daylife app can also integrate with default OS X services so you can get quick access to your contacts database, location details, and so on. However, the entire setup procedure proves to be quite intuitive.
Note that Daylife offers you the possibility to make multiple diary entries for the current day, but also integrates a calendar tool so you can quickly change the assigned date. Nonetheless, Daylife will keep the original creation and modification dates.
Daylife comes with a main journal configured by default, but you can readily change its name or create new ones. Note that each diary entry has to be assigned to a journal, which makes the records incredibly easy to find.
At the same time, Daylife allows you to attach as many tags as you want to each of your entries: besides the default sorting methods, you will also be able to filter the records by tags. The app also features a powerful search tool that can also query the journal's content.
Worth mentioning that you get to work on your diary entries in a rich text editor that includes support for lists and tables, delivers spell checking and text transformation support, and allows you to attach as many image files as you like.
Daylife offers you the option to assign location details and weather information to your records, regardless if you rely on the built-in location services, or you are manually searching for various places.
Daylife proposes a versatile space where you can store information about where you were and what you were doing or thinking on a particular day. For your convenience, the utility also integrates with various services to extract contact, location, or weather details in a streamlined manner.
To make sure everything is kept safe, Daylife encrypts everything using the AES-256 algorithm and protects the user interface with a master key. However, you can send entries to the printer or export the data to an RTF document.
