Day Progress For Mac

A different perspective can change everything, and it’s especially important for things we’re very familiar with. We’re all used to tracking a day’s progress, but seeing things in a new way may help you manage your time more effectively.

Day Progress offers several different visual representations for how much time is left in a day, or just workday, easily visible in the menu bar at a glance.

Sure, you always have a clock that tells you what time it is, but some information isn’t immediately clear: how much of the workday has already passed and how much is left, which both gives you a sense of progression and makes 5 PM seem not so far away.

Of course, aside from the psychological aspect, this app makes it somewhat easier to manage your time in order to make the most of it. If you see that 50% of your day is already gone, you’ll have a clear idea of what you should have accomplished by now, and how much faster you’ll have to work from now on.

The day range is fully customizable. It’s set to 9 AM – 5 PM by default, the standard workday, but you can set it to any interval you prefer, so it’s not just limited to work.

Aside from the interval, the menu bar icon can be shown as a pie chart or three types of progress bar, and it can be accompanied by a percentage, or the time left, in text form. Either one of these can be hidden as well.

It doesn’t do much, but Day Progress can be a useful addition to your desktop. It’s lightweight and unobtrusive, and it’s particularly good at giving you a sense that you’ve achieved something when nearing the end of the day.
