DMGExtractor is a lightweight Java application for extracting the contents of a Mac OS X Disk Image file (extension .dmg) to raw binary format (such as an ISO file).
DMGExtractor can handle most disk images of type CUDIFDiskImage, with the exception of UDCO images (using a compression method that is unknown to me).
Note that not all files with the file extension ".dmg" are UDIF encoded. Some are encrypted, and need an additional decryption layer to load and others files raw, and do not contain any block structure.
System requirements
What's new in DMGExtractor 0.70 Build 427:
- Support for AES-128 encrypted .dmg images added after studying VileFault
- Program now suggests a sensible default output file.
- User interaction slightly overhauled when restructuring the program. Should be more informative and practical in many cases.
- Program now accepts raw .dmg files, though a warning is issued telling the user that essentially the program will only copy the file contents from one location to another.
