Coountdown For Mac

Task organizers and calendar apps are quite common, but once they get too complex, they might not be ideal for users who only need one or two features, such as a simple way to create and track countdown timers.

If you’re one of those users, Coountdown may prove helpful. It is a simple Electron app that allows you to quickly add various events and see how many days are left from the menu bar. While not the most impressive application of this type, it can do the job.

After logging in, you can start adding events. Each of them can be assigned a different color, for easier identification or categorizing. Once the name and color have been selected, set the date and scroll down to create the event.

The process is very straightforward, but the event’s name needs to be very short if you want the whole text to be visible.

The user interface features a simple, uncluttered design, making it easy to see which events are coming up at a glance. Items are sorted by date, but there is no other way to organize them.

Sadly, Coountdown’s appearance cannot be customized in any way. You cannot resize the event tiles or the main window, and no alternative layouts are available. Also, the app currently doesn’t come with a dark theme.

As a countdown timer and event reminder, this application does a decent job, but it clearly still needs to be improved in certain respects. There are plenty of positives, such as the minimalistic UI and intuitive design, but Coountdown offers far too little in terms of customization. It’s certainly not a bad choice, but it needs a bit more work.
