Command Line EFI Mounter is a minimalist Mac OS X application that offers you the possibility to visualize all the volumes connected to your computer and mount any of the included EFI partitions.

All storage devices come with an EFI partition that includes the firmware load files and other utilities required to start an operating system. Command Line EFI Mounter offers you the option to mount this partition as a separate volume that can be explored through the Finder.

Once you launch the Command Line EFI Mounter application, the utility opens a new Terminal window where you get usage instruction: press the A key to start the process or the X key to quit the application.

Note that Command Line EFI Mounter will detect the commands instantly, so you don’t have to press the return key after that.  Nonetheless, you will have to provide the root admin password to be able to use the app.

Command Line EFI Mounter will automatically scan your system for connected drives, and you will be able to see the list in the Terminal window. You get to see both the disk name and its type.

In each case you get to view the GUID partition scheme and all other associated partitions, together with their size and identifiers. To be able to mount a particular EFI partition, just type the respective identifier and then press the return key.
