Placing the system time menu in your status bar is very convenient, but it will prove to be insufficient if you need to monitor multiple time zones. The status bar space could be used in a more efficient manner.

Clox is a small Mac OS X app that resides in your status bar but takes up a lot less space: you can access its menu via a tiny icon. However, through the Clox Preferences you can choose to add multiple clock designs to your desktop, which will be placed on your wallpaper.

The best part is that the Clox clocks can be set to display the current time for different locations: all you have to do is select the target location from a drop down menu. Clox allows you to set up as many widgets as you need.

Clox comes with a collection of 26 clock designs, which are organized into analog (Platinum, Radar, Safe, Steel, Sun, Swiss and more) and digital themes (Dynamite, Girl, Leather and more).

Further personalization options include the fact that you can set up your own label for the clock and choose the colors for the text, background and border, or adjust the clock size and opacity level.

You can decide to keep the clock window always on top, to be able to click through the clock window, to enable / disable the label, to switch between the time format, to view the seconds or to enable the blinking dots animation (for digital models).
