If you work with people from around the world, or you have friends in other countries, knowing their local time becomes very important. For this, you’re going to need a third-party app like Clockey.

It isn’t the only application of its kind, as you have plenty of other options. While Clockey is in no way revolutionary, it offers a lot of customization options while remaining extremely simple. It shows world times in your menu bar, using various formats, and you can set it up very easily.

To add your first clock, just click the app’s menu bar icon and select one from the list. You can find both specific cities and time zones here, and pretty much every location is included, even research stations in Antarctica.

If you don’t want the clock to be displayed in the menu bar, you can just add it to your list of favorites; to view the time, simply click the app’s menu bar icon again.

Once you’ve added one or more clocks, you can start changing various settings. By default, only the time is shown, but you can have the app display the location name as well. However, the font is very tiny, so it will be difficult to read the name on smaller screens.

It is also possible to assign a color to each clock, which can make it easier to tell them apart without displaying the name as well. 12-hour and 24-hour modes are supported, and this setting can be different for each clock.

There are a few other features worth mentioning, such as the fact that you can add custom time zones and hide the app’s menu bar icon. While it isn’t particularly innovative, Clockey does a good job of keeping things simple while still allowing quite a bit of customization.
