Just like other modern operating systems, macOS comes with a built-in clipboard system designed to help you copy, paste and move files and data from one location to another on the hard drive.

However, macOS doesn't come with an inbuilt pasteboard management application, but, thankfully, there are solutions to this problem in the form of specialized apps designed to make it easy to access items in the clipboard history for later usage.

Clipboards, just as its name says, is a clipboard manager utility which allows you to go back through your Mac's pasteboard history, reload any of those items within the clipboard buffer and organize them with ease using both pre-defined (i.e., Image, Text, Link, File) and custom labels.

Its user interface is designed to resemble that of the Notification Center and, just like its "sibling," it will slide in from the left side of the screen, allowing you to load any of the items in the clipboard history by clicking on it.

The Clipboards application also comes with support for global keyboard shortcuts as its interface can promptly be summoned using the customizable ⌘ + ⇧ + V key combo.

Clipboards also makes it possible to create custom keyboard shortcuts for pasting the first ten items in your clipboard's history, as well as configure the history limit and clear the pasteboard history altogether.

Although Clipboards performed just as expected during tests, it does come with a few bugs such as not clearing the "Copied ✓" on-screen message after successfully copying one of the items in the list in the clipboard buffer.

Thankfully there is an easy fix for this issue as the message will automatically clear out once you restart the Clipboards application.

All things considered, having Clipboards installed on your Mac will boost your productivity by always having quick and simple access to the pasteboard history and by helping you organized all recorded clipboard items using labels.
