AirMount proposes a straightforward system to transfer data from your iOS device to your Mac and vice versa with simple drag and drop actions. The utility mounts the iOS device as a drive and your Mac, and you can browse the contents in a Finder window.
The AirMount desktop app comes with a companion iOS app that you must install on the mobile device. Naturally, both apps must be running on their respective machines for a link to be set in place.
Once that is taken care of, the AirMount desktop client can detect nearby iPhones or iPads as long as the Bluetooth is active, or both devices use the same Wi-Fi network.
AirMount automatically mounts a virtual drive for the mobile device and allows you to see in the status bar menu the gadget's name and how much space it has available. The same area enables you to open the virtual drive in a Finder window.
The AirMount iOS app will ask for permission to access your photos so it can show in the Finder your camera roll but also your screenshots, captured videos, or albums stored on the device.
The AirMount utility creates a Drive directory and allows you to move to your mobile device virtually any document. The files can be managed via the companion iOS app, and you get to send them to third-party apps or share them with others in no time.
At the same time, via the Finder, you can perform basic file management procedures, such as renaming documents or moving content between directories. At the same time, you get to edit the files on the spot, without transferring them to the desktop.
AirMount comes with a straightforward system to establish a connection between your iOS device and your Mac: the app relies on your Wi-Fi connection or Bluetooth device and mounts the mobile device as a virtual drive on your Mac.
Bottom line, you will be able to manage the iOS files via a Finder window, edit them on the spot, or transfer them to your Mac with drag and drop. You get to send any file from your desktop to the iPhone or iPad just as easily.
