prwd is an easy to use command line utility designed to help you print a reduced working directory from your prompt shell.
The printed path can be shortened by using any of the following: aliases, max length and filler characters and newsgroup style. How to install and run: Unarchive, open a Terminal window, go to prwd's folder and run the following commands from the command line:
./configure make sudo make install prwd

What's new in prwd 1.9:
- Implemented fully templated mode. All older options are obsolete and used in this version as fallback for the template.
- Add command to adjust color in template.
- Add commadn to add timestamp/date in template.
- Fix a bug in newsgroup mode affecting one-level deep paths starting wiith an alias or '~' (found by Jens Schleusener).
