OneClick For Mac

If you know your way around the terminal, there are lots of useful system functions you can access. Even some macOS settings are easier to customize this way, but not everyone is familiar with these commands or wants to boot up Terminal.

OneClick is a very simple utility that makes some of these commands more accessible. From the menu bar, it allows you to reveal hidden files, hide/show desktop content, hide/show the Dock, disable sleep, and more. It emulates Terminal commands via an intuitive GUI.

When you click the menu bar icon, there are a few options at your disposal. For starters, you can instantly hide desktop files or the dock, as well as hide both of them at once for instant privacy or grabbing screenshots.

You can also reveal files that are normally hidden on your Mac. There is a simple keyboard shortcut for this command, but it's easy to forget.

MacBook users can enable/disable battery saving, as well as prevent their laptops from going to sleep for a certain amount of time.

Finally, the app lets you empty the Trash, clear the memory cache, and grab a timed screenshot. These features aren't as useful, so it might be nice to have the option to remove unnecessary menu items.

There are plenty of similar apps out there, so OneClick isn't an original idea by any means. But if you need something simple that includes one or more of these functions, it'll do the job.

The app is tiny and written in Swift, so it won't hog system resources while running in the background. Given that it simply runs some scripts, this is to be expected.

If you don't want to use a more complex app for this purpose, and Terminal commands aren't your thing, OneClick can make your life a bit easier.
