macOS doesn't provide users with an easy way to monitor their resource utilization, temperature and fan speed, which means you have to resort to a third-party app if you need this information.

iGlance is one of your options—an open-source app that displays some vital system parameters in the menu bar and can be customized extensively. It shows you CPU and memory utilization, CPU temperature, fan speed, battery status and download/upload speed.

After launching the app, you need to select the parameters you are interested in. iGlance was designed with customization in mind, so you can keep only the stats you find useful in order to reduce menu bar clutter.

Once you're done setting things up, you can close the configuration window and the selected stats will be visible in the menu bar. To view more information about any of them, as well as access the app's settings, simply click any of the values.

Aside from selecting the parameters that should be monitored, there are quite a few other settings you can play around with. For instance, you can change the color of the progress bars, switch to a graph display and hide the borders.

You can also click the values or the progress bars to view the maximum or minimum fan RPM, total traffic in the last hour, and more details about CPU or memory utilization.

If you ever want to monitor your Mac's temperature, fan speed, and resource usage, finding a free app that ticks all the right boxes can be a challenge. iGlance is suitable for users who need something simple and want to be able to keep an eye on their hardware and resource utilization at a glance. While it can be customized quite a bit, it is still very intuitive.
