Use a three-finger swipe gesture to switch between apps with the MacBook trackpad, and hold after swipe to bring up the App Switcher UI. #App Switcher #Trackpad Gesture #Switch Apps #Switcher #Gesture #Trackpad
Gestures make a lot of things easier on a MacBook, but you don’t get the level of customization some users would want, which would allow you to tailor them to your specific needs and preferences.
What if, for instance, you want to be able to quickly switch between apps using a swipe gesture, emulating the functionality of the Alt+Tab key combination? Well, that’s exactly what Touch-Tab does. It’s a lightweight, open-source app that helps with multitasking on laptops.
To start with, you’ll need to give it permission to access global trackpad events. Then, while the app is running, you can use a three-finger left or right swipe to switch between apps. If you swipe slowly or hold your fingers on the trackpad after swiping, the App Switcher UI will pop up. It’s even possible to use a two-finger scroll gesture to cycle through apps in App Switcher.
Touch-Tab runs in the menu bar, and there’s no option to hide it, which would have been great. Seeing as though it has no settings to configure, there’s no need for it to add to the clutter you probably already have in your status bar area.
