Thanks to the system wide hotkey for quitting apps, Command + Q, you get to easily close the utilities you are not actively using, hence saving resources that can be put to better use.

However, you can also find yourself quitting apps by mistake. QBlocker is a small application that can help prevent that by setting a delay period for the shortcut, during which you must hold down the respective keys.

Right off the bat, QBlocker lets you know that in order to use the app, you must navigate to the Accessibility panel in the System Preferences and confirm that the QBlocker utility has the permission to control your computer.

Once you make the adjustments and relaunch the app, you must choose to block the system built in command for all apps, or decide to keep it active for certain apps. You can access the exclusions list via the QBlocker status bar menu and modify the contents at any time.

Worth mentioning is that, even though QBlocker is blocking the way in which the Command + Q function is supposed to work, the utility is preserving the hotkey. The main difference is that the user has to hold down the keys longer in order to achieve the same result.

For your convenience, whenever QBlocker detects a quitting attempt, it will put a notification panel on top of the respective's app window, letting you know what you have to do to quit the app.
