Improve the performance of your system by manually clearing up memory that has been allocated to various apps but is currently inactive #Optimize memory #Release inactive RAM #Purge RAM #Optimize #Memory #Purge
Working with applications that need a lot of RAM memory can make you experience system delays, especially if the operating system does not release the inactive memory fast enough.
Memory Optimizer Pro is a minimalist OS X utility that can help you manually purge the memory and quickly improve your computer’s performance. This can prove very useful if you need access to the resources fast, without having to restart your Mac.
Upon launch, you get to see the Memory Optimizer Pro in your status bar and access its interface by clicking on the menulet icon. Note that you can keep the panel linked to the bar, or you can use the button placed in the top right corner to detach it.
The Memory Optimizer Pro icon lets you know how much of your RAM is currently used. The extended panel you get details about the available memory, app/wired/compressed memory, how much of the RAM is used, how much is represented by the file cache, and the total amount of memory available.
At the same time, you get to see the utilities that take up the most RAM, together with the amount used by each one. This way, you can easily identify the memory hogs that use the resources unnecessarily.
The Memory Optimizer Pro main window also includes an optimization button: just press it, and the app will start freeing up the unused memory. The entire procedure is quite intuitive and does not require too much user interaction.
At the same time, via the Memory Optimizer Pro Preferences window, you get to set a threshold level and allow the app to automatically start the optimization process if the amount of free RAM goes below that level.
Bottom line, even though the operating system is designed to free up the unused RAM periodically, this might not be fast enough, especially if you are using many memory hogs.
Memory Optimizer Pro offers you the possibility to manually start the purging system any time you see fit. The utility also integrates an auto-optimization function based on a user-defined threshold level.
