macOS Mojave HD is a macOS utility that offers you the possibility to install macOS Mojave on an SSD drive in a streamlined manner.
The macOS Mojave HD app handles the entire process on its own and also provides a post-install package that helps you deploy the Clover bootloader or specific Kext extensions to the drive.
The macOS Mojave HD developer also provides an online video tutorial that takes you through all the steps, so make sure to review it before starting.
Worth mentioning is that macOS Mojave HD is designed to run only on macOS Sierra or above and should not be tried on an OS X version. The utility launches the Disk Utility app that you must use to format the target SSD and then mounts the installer image.
macOS Mojave HD will prompt you to choose the macOS Mojave image you want to use: you must download them from the Mac App Store to your drive beforehand. By default, the Mac App Store app will place the images in your Applications directory.
The next step is to select the volume on which you want to deploy the Mojave image: the disk will be renamed to MacOS-HD, and then the installation process will start.
Depending on the drive’s performances, the task will take around 10 minutes to complete so all you have to do is wait. You get to monitor the process in the app’s main window, and the log can also be exported to a text file.
Once the procedure is complete, you can use the post-install package to either install different versions of the Clover bootloader, or different network drivers as kernel extensions. Note that you can deploy only specific items: just tick the associated checkbox.
Worth mentioning is that this step is necessary only if you want to use the Mojave installation on a non-Apple machine.
To sum up, macOS Mojave HD helps you deploy macOS mojave on an SSD drive that has been previously formatted by using the Disk Utility. The process also requires a macOS Mojave image that as been downloaded from the Mac App Store.
MacOS Mojave HD can help you prepare the Mojave installation to be used on a non-Apple machine by installing the Clover bootloader and additional network drives.
