MTMR For Mac

If you’ve gone ahead and splashed out on a Macbook Pro, you’re probably a fan of the Touch Bar included in later models. However, while macOS does allow you to customize the Touch Bar to a certain extent, your options are relatively limited.

Applications like MTMR (My TouchBar My Rules) are designed to expand your possibilities and let you create the Touch Bar you’ve always wanted. Customizations are done by editing a JSON configuration file, which can then be shared with other users.

After installing MTMR, you will be able to access it from the menu bar. Here, there is a quick link to your Preferences file, which needs to be edited manually, as well as a function to open any preset file that you have obtained from the community.

To get a better idea of how to make changes to this configuration file, you should visit the application’s GitHub page. The developer has provided instructions and examples, and you can also download some presets and try them out.

Speaking of presets, you can find more in a separate repository, which also includes screenshots to give you an idea of what you are downloading. Of course, you are also encouraged to submit your own.
