Finder Windows is designed to make things easier if you often find yourself unable to organize numerous windows in Finder. It shows you a clear listing of all open windows, with their name, icons, and window controls, while also indicating which of them are minimized.

As long as the app is running, and you are in Finder, you will see a floating panel that can be moved around your desktop and will remain on top of other applications. You can also choose to display this panel no matter which app is currently active.

All open Finder windows are listed here, in alphabetical order. You can click any to switch to them, as well as close or minimize them. If a window is currently minimized, its name will appear in italics. Folder colors are also displayed.

This app is designed for users who prefer to open multiple windows instead of tabs, and as such it recommends that Finder tabs are not used. However, attempting to disable them from the app’s preferences doesn’t seem to do anything, and the program appears capable of detecting folders inside window tabs as well. They will be listed as just another window, but that isn’t much of a drawback.

Aside from switching to a different window, closing, and minimizing them, you can also move files by just dropping them onto a certain folder in the app’s desktop panel.

You can choose whether the close and minimize buttons should be displayed in the list, and the same goes for folder icons. It might have helped if there were more options for sorting items in the list other than alphabetically.

Overall, this app should be very helpful if you’re struggling to make sense of all the windows you need to have open as part of your workflow. It’s very easy to get accustomed to, lightweight, and quite versatile.
