Apple's Magic Mouse is quite expensive, and some people just aren't fans of its form factor. Third-party mice are a good alternative, but they do lack some of the functionality, namely the ability to use gestures via its multi-touch surface.

Abnormal Mouse seeks to bring some of that functionality to regular mice. It does that by giving you customizable hotkeys that, when pressed, turn mouse movements into touch gestures, allowing you to scroll, swipe, rotate, zoom, and switch between spaces.

Apple has clearly designed macOS with touchpads and the Magic Mouse in mind, and this is a good way to help your regular mouse take advantage of these features.

First off, open the app's preferences, give it the necessary permissions, and then set up your hotkeys. Different key/button combinations are used for scrolling/swiping, zooming/rotating, and 4-finger swiping.

When using the scroll and swipe activator, mouse movements are converted into scrolling, and they also count as swipe gestures in apps that support them. You can also double-tap the activator to scroll half a page.

Zooming and rotating have configurable gestures, so you can customize which action will be performed when moving the mouse in a certain direction. Smart zoom is also supported.

Lastly, you can bind a 4-finger swipe gesture to a certain hotkey, making it easier to switch between spaces.
