Using different passwords for each account is the least you can do in terms of securing your data, but that leads to another problem: the increasing number of keys you need to memorize imposes the use of a password manager.

Instead of going for the traditional approach, of storing the passwords in encrypted mode, Forgiva regenerates the keys on each occasion and places the information on your clipboard.

Within the Forgiva main window, you get to organize your entries by category and assign as many entries as you like to a group. Even though you get to delete entries, you cannot modify the initial parameters (host, account, or password complexity level), or move them to a new category.

To help you get started, Forgiva comes with a collection of predefined groups, but note that you can either change their name or create new ones. Each category comes with an assigned icon, selected from a built-in set of graphic objects.

For your convenience, Forgiva also integrates a simple search tool: the app automatically selects the entry that matches your keyword, and once you press the return key it will prompt you for the master password.

Worth mentioning is that Forgiva will store only the host and account information: based on the master key provided by the user and the response given in the visual pattern prompt, the app will generate the password on each occasion.

When making a new entry, you get to set the renewal date, the password complexity level (normal, intermediate, advanced), and the password length. Naturally, to generate the correct password again, you need both the master key and the answer to the visual pattern question.

This visual pattern, combined with the fact that Forgiva places the password directly on your clipboard to be used in any way you see fit, also keep you protected you against keylogging malware.

To sum up, Forgiva is an alternative password management solution that offers you the possibility to keep all your passwords in the same place without worrying about their safety: each password is generated and placed on your pasteboard based on a master key and a visual pattern.

However, the app’s user interface is not protected in any way and, even though you cannot generate password without the required information, you do get to delete entries without any restrictions, which might prove problematic if you don’t remember the account name.
