nessViewer combines functionality of DVD / QuickTime Player and Preview, offers a MediaCenter with direct access to local media and many internet media providers, includes functionality to edit, arrange and present media and offers a media server to transfer or stream media between Mac and iOS. nessViewer supports the following media: DVDs, pictures, movies / videos, media shows (playlists) and portable documents (PDFs). Movies and videos are playable in all common formats (like AVI, DivX, MKV, MPEG4) thru the QuickTime extensions Flip4Mac and Perian.

Beside these supported media, the media center also allows it to access EyeTV movies, iPhoto media like images and videos, iTunes media including bought or rented movies (DRM) and Miro video podcasts (RSS).

Furthermore media server and DLNA client browser allows it to access media via network (DLNA, FTP). Thru the DLNA client, many media servers like Plex, PS3, Serviio, Twonky or XBMC UPnP and NAS volumes can be accessed and their media presented.

It is recommended to install the following QuickTime extensions to be compatible with most film formats:
Fast internet connection to use the internet offer of the nessViewer media center optimally
Apple Remote Control to use the nessViewer media center optimally.
It is recommended to install the following QuickTime extensions to be compatible with most film formats:
FlipForMac (WMV)
Perian
VLC or Apple's mediafilesegmenter to stream media to nessViewer App (iOS)

Limitations in the unregistered version

Expires after thirty minutes and can be started again for another thirty minutes.
