Speed-Up is a low-key and user-friendly macOS application designed to make it possible to either slow down or speed up songs played using Apple’s iTunes multimedia player.

The Speed-Up utility comes as a menu bar item that will allow you to adjust playback speed in iTunes with a simple click of a button. This way you will be able to choose if you want it to slow down or increase the playing speed, as well as the speed percentage.

Moreover, Speed-Up features seamless integration with Apple’s iTunes so that, once you’ve chosen a different speed in the app’s status bar menu, iTunes will immediately follow and change the playback rate accordingly.

At the moment, Speed-Up can be used to set any playback speed you want, given that it falls between the 0.25x and 3.0x values.

Considering the fact that Speed-Up is completely integrated with iTunes, you will be able to effortlessly speed up or slow down any type of audio content that can be played using iTunes, from music, to podcasts and audio books.

As a downside, for now, Speed-Up only works with audio based content, therefore, if you intend to speed up any video based media, you are out of luck.

Taking all said in consideration, the Speed-Up application provides everything you need to increase the play rate of a song up to three times and, if necessary, slow it down to a crawl for observing the smallest details in the track without having to use complex audio analysis software.
