MediaConch For Mac

MediaConch features batch conformance checking tools designed to verify the integrity of audiovisual files that use the Matroska, Linear Pulse Code Modulation, or FF Video Codec 1 formats.

The project comes with an intuitive graphical user interface, but also sports a command line interface, and a web based shell. Note that each component has its own archive so you must download them separately.

The MediaConch graphical user interface is organized into multiple tabs so you can quickly navigate between the checker, results, and various configuration panels. Right off the bat, you must specify if you want to verify local files or folders, or online resources.

Note that MediaConch offers you the possibility to load multiple files at the same time, so the unnecessary repetitive actions are avoided. You must specify the policy you want to check, and the output type: HTML, text, text Unicode, or XML.

Worth mentioning is that MediaConch comes with predefined policy sets and that you get to add new rules to each entry. The updated configuration can be easily exported to an XLS file.

At the same time, MediaConch also offers you the option to quickly import policy sets from other sources. The same rules apply to the display set, except that you don’t get to modify or create new display files.

After the checking procedure completes, MediaConch generates multiple reports that can be viewed within the app’s GUI or saved as XML files on your disk drive. Keep in mind that the results list is not preserved between sessions.

To sum up, MediaConch provides a streamlined solution for verifying that certain standards are followed when dealing with MKV, LPCM, and FFV1 files. The app comes with batch processing capabilities, generates various reports, and allows you to set your own policy rules.
