Find Library Music Folder Inconsistencies will produce a text file with two lists: the first lists any tracks in your iTunes Library which have lost their source file; the second lists all those files in your selected folder which are not in your iTunes Library.
Find Library Music Folder Inconsistencies is a free AppleScript designed to work when you have all your song files in a single folder with arbitrary names.
Put the Find Library Music Folder Inconsistencies script in your iTunes Scripts folder. This is located in home > Library > iTunes. If there is no Scripts folder there, create one and put the script in it. It will then appear in iTunes' Scripts Menu, where you can select it by clicking on its name.
