Captain's Blowout Fixer is a Final Cut Pro plug-in based on a Shake script. The concept is based on the fact that when an image is blown out, especially on the skin, not all color channels are necessarily over exposed.
Often when the red channel is blown out, the green channel may still contain good information. The Captain's Blowout Fixer plug-in lets you selectively substitute one channel for another in the over exposed areas and color correct it to match.
The Captain's Blowout Fixer filter can be easily accessed through the Effects/Video Filters/Color Correction menu.
