Adapter For Mac

Adapter is a powerful yet easy to use Mac app featuring batch conversion capabilities when dealing with video, audio, or image files. The utility is powered by the FFmpeg project, so you must start by installing or updating the tools to the latest version (the process is handled by the app automatically).

Upon launch, the Adapter main window is reduced to a small panel on top of which you must drag and drop the files you want to process. However, you also have the possibility to activate the Settings panel where you can handle details related to the output location, image resolution, or audio quality.

Adapter also includes a Preview panel where you should be able to visualize both the source and output video files before actually exporting the data, but during our test that function did not work at all (we have been using a 2GHz Intel Core Duo iMac with 6GB RAM).

In the bottom toolbar of the Adapter main window, you will be able to find a simple drop down menu that enables you to quickly choose a file format from a list of supported outputs. To make things a lot easier, the formats are organized by type, but also by the devices that are able to play them.

This way, even inexperienced users are able to identify the file formats that can be played on tablets, cell phones, Apple devices, and so on. The best part is that Adapter is able to handle multiple files at the same time, so you have to make the adjustments only once.

Adapter offers you the possibility to quickly convert different types of media files into more popular formats, or into files that can be handled by specific devices. Due to its intuitive and user friendly design, you will be able to find your way around and perform the tasks successfully with minimal effort.
