Firebird For Mac

Firebird is an open source emulator for certain TI-Nspire graphing calculators: Touchpad, CX, and CX CAS. Worth mentioning is that to use the emulator, you must dump the right ROM images from your personal Ti-Nspire calculator.

To start using the Firebird emulator, you must direct the application to the boot and flash images you want to employ. Since the TI-Nspire calculators are commercial products, the ROM images are not available online, so you must create the boot images on your own.

Begin by downloading the appropriate operating system for your calculator model, installing Ndless, and sending the compatible Polydumper file to your TI-Nspire calculator.

If Ndless is running on the graphing calculator, when you launch the Polydumper file, both the boot1 and boot2 files will be dumped. All you have to do next is move them to your computer and use the Firebird Flash tool.

Within the Firebird user interface, you have the option to use the TI-Nspire calculators without any limitations. Just start the emulator and you will be able to see the LCD, the keypad, or the debugging results.

Firebird also includes file transfer capabilities, can grab screenshots or record GIFs, can connect via USB or send files over XModem. The emulator can also save snapshots that you get to load at a later time.

Firebird offers you the possibility to perform the same operations you would do your TI-Nspire calculators on your desktop, capture screenshots, or even save snapshots. As a result, you can perform different tasks without having to go back and forth between devices.
