Client-server system to manage resource allocation and workflow tracking in mass-spectrometry based proteomics labs #Manage resource allocation #Proteomics labs #Mass-spectrometry proteomics labs #Manage #Resource #Allocation
In a nutshell, Prioritizer is a free client-server system for managing resource allocation and workflow tracking in mass-spectrometry based proteomics labs.
Prioritizer relies on the concept of rank-based priorities assigned to projects and their dynamic state allocation.
Prioritizer thus emulates a workflow tracker that can indicate how and in what order available resources need to be employed to complete a list of projects.
Since each project is assigned to an instrument, the priority is set per instrument, effectively providing resource-centric prioritization.
Prioritizer also recognizes several user roles, each bringing specific abilities and responsibilities.
Finally, Prioritizer responds to state changes, priority assignments or alterations, and resource allocation or re-allocation with automated e-mail alerts, informing the principal investigator as well as the responsible user whenever such changes affect a relevant project.
Detailed instructions on how to install and use the Prioritizer utility on your Mac are available HERE.
Prioritizer is a cross-platform utility capable of running on any operating system that comes with Java support (e.g. Mac OS X, Windows, Linux).
