OLIGO is designed to search for and select oligonucleotides from a file that includes DNA sequencing,  polymerase chain reaction (PCR)site-directed mutagenesis, and various hybridization applications.

OLIGO is able to determine the melting/hybridization temperatures and secondary structure of oligonucleotides taking into account the nearest neighbor thermodynamic values.

Oligo will also find restriction enzyme sites, analyze open reading frames and more. The essential criteria that need to be meet for optimal PCR, sequencing primers, and for optimal hybridization probes are specificity, free from dimer and hairpin structures and form stable duplexes.

OLIGO will specifically search for and list the position, sequence, and other data of all oligonucleotides (or primer pairs) that optimally meet these major requirements, plus several other criteria.

The Oligo demo is a functional software where you can check your own primers, but you cannot search for primers using your own sequence file.
