DataMelt is a powerful data analysis software that integrates numerous 3rd party numerical libraries in an attempt to provide comprehensive capabilities when it comes to visualizing and analyzing large chunks of information.
Worth mentioning is that the DataMelt is a community release that can be used for non-commercial purposes only: you need to register for a membership or get a commercial and developers license to gain full access to the available libraries and all DataMelt capabilities.
DataMelt comes with a well-organized user interface where you get to browse your resource files, switch between them with ease thanks to the tabbed interface, or use the Bean, Jython, or JMathLab shells to run the jHPlot scripts, text documents, or Java apps or applets you are working with.
Moreover, DataMelt is also able to read script data from a URL link, features a code view for Python scripts, and comes with syntax highlighting capabilities for various programming languages: Java, JavaScript, XML, C++, Python, PHP, Ruby, and so on.
Note that DataMelt comes with an extensive online manual that takes you through the installation procedure and explains how you can use your programming skills within the application.
You get to learn more about the mathematics, data visualization, numeric calculations, data analysis, statistics, symbolic calculations, natural science, market analysis, scientific tools and image processing options.
Within the DataMelt user interface, you can also plot Java or 3D canvases, and visualize both 2D and 3D functions or surfaces. The utility also includes Bibtex and LaTeX tools, can deal with equations, provides access to the periodic table, handles unit conversions, can be used to analyze spreadsheets, and so on.
On top of all that, DataMelt makes use of the classes that come with the Java API, together with the modules and libraries made available for Python, Groovy, or Ruby. It provides access to more that 30.000 Java classes associated with third party libraries.
Last but not least, the graphical representations produced by DataMelt can be exported to well-known image file formats, such as PDF, EPS, or SVG, that you can further manipulate in other projects or apps.
