vu is one such utility, a fast and minimalist looking Instagram client designed to help you stay on top of your Instagram feed at all times from the comfort of your Mac's desktop.

To be more specific, vu borrows its clean and elegant looks from user interface from Instagram's mobile website, a smart move which makes its interface easy to use and instantly familiar to all Instagram users.

After you start it up, vu adds a status bar item which allows you to summon the app's interface with a mouse click and, with the second one, to access the status bar menu that gives you quick access its Accounts menu.

If you need to have it always available on your Mac's screen, you can set it vu to be always on top all your other windows, effectively making it visible at all times.

With its help, you can also switch between multiple accounts if need to and if you have more than one Instagram account, and, despite the fact that this procedure is not detailed on vu's website, it's really quite simple.

More precisely, to use multiple Instagram accounts, you first login in an account and after logging out and logging in into your other ones, you will be able to set any of them as the active account with a simple mouse click.

vu can also be used to rapidly upload photos to your Instagram profile by clicking the Camera button at the bottom of the window and following the app's directions.

Unfortunately, because vu is built on top of Instagram's mobile website it also comes with its shortcomings, namely the lack of support for uploading videos and for the Stories feature.
