mypeople For Mac

Daum’s mypeople is a free instant messaging solution for both mobile (Android and iOS) and desktop platforms (OS X and Windows). mypeople is more than a simple IM. It allows you to call phone numbers all over the world for free and send SMS messages as well.

Mypeople also supports high-quality video chat with buddies from any country. Another advantage is the ability to chat with up to 50 buddies at a time. The main window of mypeople consists of three tabs - one for your friends list, another for the chat archive and the last for adding new contacts.

From the Friends tab, you can quickly access a friend by using the upper search box. You can also add friends to favorites by clicking on the star icon at the right of each friend entry.

The Chats tab allows you to sort (by recent or unread), access and read past conversations. You also have an option to show only group chats. As for the Add Friend tab, you can use it to send SMS messages or add a new buddy. New contacts can be added by specifying their name and phone number. A nice feature is the ability to add up to 5 friends simultaneously.

The chat window is simple and intuitive. You can add all sorts of funny stickers, smileys and emoticons. Moreover, file sending and text processing is also supported. mypeople comes with numerous stickers, but you can also create your own, which are called “mystickers”.

Additional chat window features include a slider to adjust its opacity and a pin button to make the window always stay on top of other windows on your desktop. The files you’ve received and sent can be managed via the File Box window. Your files are organized by content: images, video, documents and others.
