Upload your files to a secure could storage server, synchronize them across multiple devices and share your data, with this useful application #Data synchronization #Share file #Backup data #Synchronization #Share #Backup
Nowadays, there is no need to worry about losing important data should local storage drives fail, and even portable storage devices are becoming obsolete as a method of sharing information. Cloud storage services have taken over, and they can help you access your files from any location, at any time.
XXL Box is a relatively simple application that allows you to connect to your XXL Cloud account and synchronize files across several devices. Companion apps are also available for Windows PC’s, as well as iOS, Android and Kindle devices.
Naturally, it is first necessary to create an online account, which will then be accessible from any number of devices.
All your libraries are listed in the main window, organized into several categories. However, you cannot sort them in any way, and shareable links can only be generated from the web interface.
Libraries can be synchronized manually or automatically, and you can view which of them are up-to-date.
XXL Box is fairly easy to use and should not pose any problems for novices. It can be accessed from the Dock or menu bar, and the main window has a simple, intuitive layout. However, it would help if there was a way to switch between the Libraries, Starred and History views without accessing the application menu.
While XXL Box can be removed from the Dock, this causes the application menu to become inaccessible.
As an added feature, it would be great if the most recent uploaded files could be viewed by clicking the app’s menu bar icon.
If you are looking for a way to store your files securely, XXL Box is a great choice. Data is encrypted during transfer and while it is in the cloud, and the service’s support for multiple platforms ensures you will always be able to access your files from any location.
The OS X app is in need of some improvements, however, as only a few operations can be performed from the desktop, switching between views is rather difficult, and the application menu becomes inaccessible when hiding the Dock icon.
