The Wi-Fi Inspector application is organized into multiple tabs, each dealing with various tasks: mapping the Wi-Fi networks, running tests, or polling. In order to be able to gather information, you must make sure that you have turned on your Wi-Fi adapter.

By default, Wi-Fi Inspector will pool for information every 5 seconds, which might render your computer unresponsive at times, depending on the available resources. However, via the Settings panel you can raise the polling interval to 30 seconds.
