Uploadium is an uploader tool that can be configured to work with any server that provides support for the SFTP protocol. The utility resides in the status bar, but also sports a system-wide hotkey and integrates into the macOS Services contextual menu.
Right off the bat, Uploadium launches an info panel that takes you through all the basic concepts and opens the Folder Setup window. Take into consideration that you can send files to the server only if the items are included in a previously configured folder (you get to define as many configurations as you like).
The folder setup process is split into two sections: the first deals with the source directory on your Mac, while the later handles the server details.
Uploadium allows you to use the Finder menu to point out the project directory on your Mac, but you can also add a small description to make it more easily recognizable.
In the server area, you need to provide the server's hostname and the port that should be used, your account's username and the path to the folder on the server. Note that you will be asked to provide the password for the account only when you establish the server connection.
Besides dragging and dropping files on top of the Uploadium status bar menulet, you can also choose to upload files directly from the current app, either by using the app’s status bar menu or the system-wide keyboard shortcut.
For the latter to work, you need to add the Uploadium application to the list of utilities trusted to control your Mac, via the System Preferences window (navigate to the security panel).
Moreover, Uploadium also integrates an Upload option in the macOS contextual menu, under the Services list. Last but not least, Uploadium can also receive commands via the Terminal.
Uploadium proposes an easily configurable solution for uploading files to different servers without wasting time manually connecting to the server or navigating through the folder structure.
Just configure the folders you want to use as a source, provide the server’s details together with the target directory, and Uploadium reduces the upload procedure to straightforward and intuitive actions.
