Automatically places your screenshots into your public Dropbox folder and places on your clipboard the public URL to the file so you can easily share it with others. #Screenshot to Dropbox #Upload to Dropbox #Share screenshot #Screenshot #Dropbox #Uploader
UpShot offers you the possibility to effortlessly share your screenshots with others without having to worry about file transfers or setting up an additional cloud storage account. The app works with your Dropbox installation and handles the upload procedure automatically.
To take advantage of the UpShot capabilities, you must have Dropbox installed and already configured on your system. The first time you launch the UpShot app, you will be greeted by a Dropbox ID detection panel that contains instructions on how to create a connection between the two apps.
Just navigate to your Dropbox Public folder either manually or by making use of the included “Open Dropbox Folder” button, select a file in that directory, open the contextual menu, and select the “Copy Public Link” option.
This action helps UpShot to detect the Dropbox ID on its own, so all you have to do next is confirm that you indeed want to share all your screenshots.
Note that the procedure can be performed again if you choose to switch to another Dropbox account, and that the image sharing can be easily paused without having to repeat the initial setup.
Once everything is up and running, every time you capture a screenshot using the OS built-in tool, the image files will be saved to a folder placed in your Dropbox directory. The pictures are quickly uploaded to the cloud, and the public link will be instantly put on your clipboard.
Within the UpShot Preferences, you can also choose to preserve the originals and only send copies to the Dropbox folder. Moreover, UpShot allows you to use a custom domain name for sharing the screenshots.
UpShot builds on a service that you might already use for other purposes and offers you the possibility to quickly upload your screenshots to the cloud to facilitate sharing.
The UpShot utility is quite easy to setup, comes with an unobtrusive workflow, and you can immediately pause the service anytime you like.
