StayFocusd For Mac

StayFocusd is a Google Chrome add-on designed to help you stay focused on your work and reduce the time you spend on various websites. The add-on is highly configurable, so you have full control over site blocking rules.

To deploy the StayFocusd add-on to your Google Chrome installation, just navigate to the appropriate Chrome Store entry and then press the Add to Chrome button placed in the top right corner of the page.

The StayFocusd icon will be placed in the address bar, and you can use the associated panel to block the currently loaded site, or prevent the access to custom URLs.

The same StayFocusd panel provides access to the Nuclear Option: you get to block all websites or only certain pages for a limited amount of time to maximize your focus.

Right off the bat, StayFocusd allows you to specify how much time you are authorized to spend daily on the websites included in the Blocked list. This way, after the quota is consumed, the site gets blocked altogether.

You get to decide when you want the StayFocusd add-on to be active: days of the week and times of the day. You can also change the daily reset time, and manually curate the blocked and allowed sites lists.

Worth mentioning is that StayFocusd also includes a challenge mode, which means that you will have to complete a challenge before being able to change any settings. You get control over the notification settings, update notices, sync options, and so on.
