PodcastMenu is a minimalist status bar menu application that offers you the option to connect to and control your Overcast account. As a result, you will not clutter your browser or desktop unnecessarily, while access to all of your podcasts is a click away.

The Overcast service has been developed primarily to be used via the iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch companion apps. However, you also get to log into your account via a web browser and either listen to active episodes or search for podcasts.

The PodcastMenu application offers you the possibility to perform the same actions from the comfort of your status bar. Within the autohiding panel, you get to view your current subscriptions, use the search bar to find new interesting podcasts, read details about each episode, and so on.

The PodcastMenu podcast controller includes all the buttons available in the web console: you get to play or pause the playback, jump back or forward 30 seconds, or adjust the playback speed.

The PodcastMenu status bar icon will change color depending if the player is active or not: the figure is black while you are navigating the podcasts or simply pausing them, and it becomes orange once the playback starts.

PodcastMenu is a simple yet very efficient alternative to listening to Overcast podcasts while working on your computer. The utility stays out of your way at all times, while also making sure you can control the playback without going too much out of your way.

Even though PodcastMenu relies on the Overcast web console, the app also comes with support for using the media keys to control the playback, which is extremely convenient.
