Never Read For Mac

Never Read is a minimalist OS X app designed to help you keep your Pocket unread list to a manageable size. The utility can quickly remove the unread items that are not archived or favorited and have been bookmarked before a user-specified time frame.

The Never Read utility resides in your status bar, and you can effortlessly launch the clean up process via its menu. However, make sure to access the Preferences window and configure the utility first off.

Within the Never Read Preferences, you must log into your Pocket account: you will be directed to your default web browser to provide your credentials and confirm that you allow the Never Read app to control your Pocket account.

Note that you can easily revoke the authorization at any time by going to the Pocket's account Options panel, under the Connected Services & Apps tab: Never Read will be listed under 3rd Party Applications.

In the Never Read Preferences window, you get to specify what articles are to be removed: the app can easily delete the entries that are older than a user-specified time frame expressed in days.

Worth mentioning is that Never Read actively deletes the bookmarks, and you don’t have any option to retrieve them. On the other hand, Never Read will not touch favorite or archived articles, so you can still keep the entries that truly interest you.

Never Read is an uncomplicated cleanup tool that can motivate you to read articles before its too late. At the same time, it can batch remove the ones that have become irrelevant or are not compelling enough to recapture your attention and will probably never get read.
