Video surveillance systems have become extremely popular and many companies that provide equipment for such systems also develop software to help you monitor the video feed in real time.

Matrix Network Inc is such an enterprise that provides an application called Matrix Video to help you manage and preview the content grabbed by all connected IP cameras.

The Matrix Video interface is quite organized and easy to use: the left side panel includes the IP cameras list, while on the right side you can preview their live feed.

To get started, you must add new IP cameras via the Preferences window. Specify the IP address, the connection port, the scanning mode (IP or DVRNS) and then press the Search button. The application will detect all available cameras. When in DVRNS mode, make sure you use the correct server address and port.

Matrix Video also includes color controls and allows you to manage PTZ (Pan Tilt Zoom) enabled IP cameras. You can access the specific window by pressing the “PTZ Control” button from the top Matrix Video toolbar.

The application provides support for monitoring up to 64 cameras at the same time. From the Layout menu you can select one of the 8 viewing modes: 1x1, 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, 5x5, 6x6, 7x7 or 8x8.

The Matrix Video Search Control panel enables you to browse the recoded content by date and hour. You can easily play or pause the video, go fast forward or rewind and much more.
