MacTubes For Mac

MacTubes is a handy and user-friendly Mac OS X application specially designed to help you playback  and download YouTube videos from within a simple and clean interface.

From MacTubes’s main window you can also create playlists and switch between the list and thumbnail view mode. You can also open the Info window and view detailed information about the selected video such as title, author, video URL, author, video info and comments posted by other YouTube users.

The built-in search engine makes it easy for your to find the desired video with just a few keystrokes. You can use the Filter feature to further refine the displayed list.

Once the clip is found, you can play it directly from within MacTubes, search for related video or other videos posted by the same author, add it to one of your playlists and downloaded to one of the supported file format.

Consequently, you can save a clip as a FLV, MP4 or HD video with a resolution of 720p or 1080p. Although, the built-in player is capable to playback the video, it can only display the video at a very  low resolution and while in full-screen mode it is unable to display the video on the entire screen. Fortunately, you can fix this issue by selecting another player from the Preferences window.

On the bright side, he playlist feature works really well and, as a result, you can use MacTubes as music player. Hence, you can create multiple playlists with your favorite songs and artists and listen to them while you work.

You can sort your playlists based on the item number, author name, time, number of views, rating or date. By accessing the Preferences window, you can limit the number of search results, enable or disable the Safe search and set the default download directory.
