Loose Leaves For Mac

Loose Leaves is designed to help you share Markdown notes with others without having to go through a complicated process.

The application automatically generates a URL that contains your text, places the link on your clipboard, and opens the page in your default web browser.

Upon installation, Loose Leaves places a menulet into your status bar that provides access to the online app documentation, and to your account’s settings. To use the service, you must register for an account free of charge.

Note that Loose Leaves is in early development, so it still has some issues. You can find fixes for some of the most common problems on the online Help page.

Loose Leaves is using the SSL encryption protocol and employs a long, randomly generated token for the link address in order to make it hard to guess. However, keep in mind that anyone that has the link can access the data and that there are no authorization protocols put in place.

By default, Loose Leaves should generate pages for any selected text string as soon as you press the Shift + Command + C keyboard shortcut. If the hotkey does not work, for various reasons, just select the appropriate entry from the Finder contextual menu.

When creating the page, Loose Leaves will apply the formatting indicated by the Markdown syntax. At the same time, the application can also handle some style tags and HTML inline styles.

Loose Leaves proposes a simple manner for sharing well formatted Markdown content with others without worrying too much about the technical details.

On the other hand, you must be careful what you choose to share while using this service: the URLs can be accessed by anyone that has the address.

What's more, even though each new page comes with a delete button, you cannot see a list of all the URLs that have been created by your account.
