Search the web at lightning fast speeds using a Spotlight-like user interface, and custom keyboard shortcuts and string encoding #Web search #Internet search #Search web #Search #Web #Internet
There is very little else as common place these days as having to search for information on the Internet and having a dedicated tool to do it is quite a big time saver.
Haste is macOS application designed for this exact purpose, and it has been created from the ground up to complement Spotlight's capabilities by adding a fast way to scour the web for the information you need.
Moreover, you can rapidly summon Haste's user interface by tapping the ⌘ key, by copying the text you want to search beforehand or by writing down the item you need to find in the input field.
The Haste app enables you to use custom searches, which allow you to open a new tab with the search engine of your choice in your default web browser.
You can tweak each of the built-in custom searches' URL and hotkeys to suit your needs, and you can also add new ones by either downloading them from Haste's support website or creating from scratch using the "Edit Custom Searches" dialog.
Haste's looks and behavior can be customized via the Preferences window, with a light and a dark theme to change the Search window's appearance and support for iCloud sync to keep your custom searches synchronized between multiple Macs.
The search process can be tweaked in detail by toggling the options available within the Preferences Search tab.
You can do this by changing the key which triggers the search field, the position where the app's window opens on your Mac's screen, and by toggling the search field auto-fill feature from the clipboard or via drag and dropping the text onto the app's icon.
On the whole, if you need a tool to boost your Internet search speeds and to make it easier to pinpoint the information you require without having to open multiple browser tabs in the process, Haste is the app you want.
